Is HRPay "Revenue approved"?
We often get asked if HRPay is "Revenue approved". It is time
to
address this misconception, and nail the lies that are told by some
unscrupulous software suppliers and payroll bureaux.
The Revenue Commissioners do NOT have an
approval process for accounting & payroll software and services.
At
least one Irish payroll bureau claims that the software they use is
"Revenue Accredited". It is not! One payroll software supplier has a
very official-looking Revenue Commissioner's logo on their web site
with the words
"Fully Revenue compliant". This is a bare-faced attempt to insinuate
that their product has some form of Revenue endorsement that it hasn't
got.
Any payroll provider who sells software or services
with an implied endorsement from the Revenue Commissioners is telling
lies. If they cannot be honest on this point, be wary. Can you believe
that their product or service does what they claim?
To answer
the initial question, the Irish version of HRPay is not "Revenue
approved", and neither is
any other payroll software or service on the Irish market. The Revenue
Commissioners do not endorse, approve, or accredit payroll software and
services.
However, the UK version of HRPay is fully approved by HM Revenue and Customs and has been granted Payroll Standard Accreditation.
Aquila Technology is the only Irish company whose payroll software is accredited by HMRC.

to handle the new Income
Levy,
which was introduced in the October 14th Budget, is included in this
release. HRPay also handles the exemption which was announced
subsequently for employees on the National Minimum Wage and the
additional 3% rate which was added in the Finance Bill. The Income Levy
rates can be edited to reflect the changes that come into effect from
1st May 09. The Parking Levy, which was also announced in the October 14th Budget, is fully handled by HRPay. The Budget speech also contained changes in the basis on which company car BIK will be calculated. This change will come into effect by Ministerial Order. However, the Finance Bill contains an error in the new rates and this may delay the implementation of the new measures. HRPay continues to calculate this benefit using the existing rules but, also has the ability to use the CO2 rates when the changes come into effect. Because of the changes required to handle the Income Levy, the Parking Levy, and the CO2-based company car BIK, existing users will require an updated copy of HRPay. This was issued on CD to all existing users in early December. |

With mandatory Internet Filing coming down the tracks, time is running out for employers who are still making paper-based returns to HMRC. There is no better time to consider an affordable payroll application, like HRPay, which provides full coverage for all the in-year and end-of-year filing requirements for the 2009/10 and 2010/11 tax years. With HRPay starting at £79.99* for a 5-employee system, and £99.99* for a 20-employee system you can make substantial savings by doing your own payroll. At £79.99, can it be any good? Believe it or not, there are cheaper payroll applications on the market and one or two of them are quite good, although none are as good as HRPay. However, don't be put off by the low price. This is a fully functional application that includes everything that you will find in much more expensive payroll software, and has more functionality than many of the more expensive packages.HRPay has gone through over nine months of testing with over 4,500 individual tests to give it the highest level of Payroll Standard accreditation and Internet Recognition from HMRC. Have a look at the specs, or download the self-running User Guide and see what you could be getting. Or, better still download HRPay and give it a test drive. We think you will be impressed. What's the catch? There is none. The price includes full support and any necessary updates for the tax year at no additional cost. As with all payroll products, there is an annual fee for updates and support after the first year. The update/support fee is £79.99* for all versions of HRPay. But, this tax year is almost ended! That's true, but HRPay allows you to implement payroll at any time. You can input year to date figures and run payroll as normal for the remainder of the year and meet the requirement of e-Filing in May. Naturally, we wouldn't expect you to pay for a 2009/10 payroll application with less than two months of the tax year remaining. If you buy HRPay before the end of the tax year, we will provide updates and support for 2010/11 at no extra cost. Will I be able to use it? We know that it is not uncommon for
people to buy software and then leave it on the shelf because it is too
difficult to use. HRPay is easy to use but, you don't need to take our
word for it. You can download and use HRPay for 30 days before you make
any commitment to purchase. What if I have more than 5 employees? A 20-employee version of HRPay costs
£99.99* and a 100-employee version costs £199.99*. Annual support and
maintenance, after the first year, is £79.99* regardless of the number
of
employees. That's a fair question. Aquila Technology was established in 1990 and has been providing its accounting product - Artemis Accounts - since 1994. The product is now used in in a wide range of small to medium size enterprises in over 16 countries. A version of HRPay for the Irish tax system has available since 2003 and is the price-performance leader in the Irish payroll market. The company's slogan - Affordable Business Solutions - embodies its strategy of developing and supplying business applications that compete on price, performance, and ease of use. The UK version of HRPay is modelled on the Irish version. It has been extensively re-engineered to cover the requirements of the UK market, while retaining the features that make it one of the most intuitive and powerful systems available. Unlike many other products on the market, it retains all of the historical information that is entered on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis and uses this information to provide additional functionality to the user. This makes HRPay more than a payroll package. A quick look at the features will show that, compared to standard payroll packages, HRPay automatically handles a multitude of tasks that usually require manual intervention, or additional software. Naturally, HRPay handles all Revenue returns and forms, such as P9D, P11D, P14, P30, P32, P35, P38A, P38S, P45(1), P45(3), P46, P46(Expat), P160/P46(Pen), P46(Car), WNU, and P60. Returns can be paper-based or you can use the integrated Internet Filing features to make returns online, including IRmark capability for in-year submissions. In addition, it can download all notices from the Data Provisioning Service, i.e. P6, P9, SL1, SL2, Annual Reminders, and Notifications, and apply the changes to the employee records. This version of HRPay is based on the DBISAM database, combined with a native code compiled application, to give unparalleled speed and functionality in a compact installation. It is available in 5, 20, and 100 employee versions and upgrading from one product to another is simple. All versions of HRPay are 100% compatible. What hardware do I need? HRPay will run on Windows 98, XP, or Vista. It requires 50Mb of free disk space and a minimum of 32Mb of memory. That is a fairly basic configuration these days! REMEMBER! If you buy now, you get the 2010/2011 update free! * Prices shown do not include VAT. |
